Diese Bestandteile sind oft in Konzentrationen vorhanden, die eine weitere Verarbeitung nicht zulassen, es sei denn, das Wasser wird behandelt. Hierf\u00fcr ist eine geeignete L\u00f6sung erforderlich.<\/p>\n<p>Bei den bekannten Behandlungsmethoden wird Aktivkohle verwendet. Dies hat einen Nachteil: Nach der S\u00e4ttigung muss die Kohle regeneriert werden oder sie wird entsorgt.<\/p>\n<p>Der biologische Abbau in einem kontinuierlichen Filter mit beweglichem Bett wird erfolgreich eingesetzt, um sowohl mono- als auch polyzyklische Kohlenwasserstoffe in unsch\u00e4dliche Bestandteile umzuwandeln. Der f\u00fcr das Wachstum der Biomasse erforderliche Sauerstoff wird entweder durch reinen Sauerstoff oder durch Luft in das Filterbett eingebracht. Die Biomasse w\u00e4chst auf der Oberseite der Sandk\u00f6rner. Der kontinuierliche Waschprozess wird so gesteuert, dass die aktive Biomasse im System verbleiben kann. Daher liegt die \u00e4quivalente Schlammverweilzeit (SRT) deutlich \u00fcber 10 Tagen.<\/p>\n<p>Praktische Ergebnisse wurden mit monozyklischen Kohlenwasserstoffkonzentrationen im Feed im Bereich von 500 - 1.000 \u00b5g\/l und polyzyklischen Kohlenwasserstoffkonzentrationen im Bereich von 40 - 80 \u00b5g\/l erzielt. Im Filtrat werden Konzentrationen von typischerweise weniger als 5 \u00b5g\/l gemessen. Diese Ergebnisse werden bei hydraulischen Verweilzeiten von nur 10 - 20 Minuten erzielt.<\/p>\n<p>Das Verfahren erzeugt keine chemischen Abf\u00e4lle. Der kontinuierliche Waschwasserstrom enth\u00e4lt die \u00fcbersch\u00fcssige Biomasse und die im Filter zur\u00fcckgehaltenen Feststoffe.
