Infolgedessen bewegen sich die Sandk\u00f6rner im Filterbett mit einer typischen Geschwindigkeit zwischen 3 und 16 mm pro Minute nach unten.  Wir nennen diese Bewegung die Sandumlaufgeschwindigkeit. Darin unterscheidet sich der kontinuierliche Filter von einem chargenweise gewaschenen Sandfilter.<\/span><\/p><p>Die Sandumlaufgeschwindigkeit scheint f\u00fcr die Filtrationseffizienz von gro\u00dfer Bedeutung zu sein. In diesem Zusammenhang m\u00fcssen zwei Ph\u00e4nomene verstanden werden:<\/p><ol><li>Eine geringere Sandumlaufgeschwindigkeit bedeutet, dass es l\u00e4nger dauert, bis das Filtermaterial von oben nach unten gelangt. Die Umw\u00e4lzzeit ist definiert als die Zeit zwischen zwei Durchl\u00e4ufen des Waschsystems. Betr\u00e4gt die Sandumw\u00e4lzung z. B. 10 mm pro Minute und die Filterbetth\u00f6he 2 Meter, so betr\u00e4gt die Umw\u00e4lzzeit 3 Stunden und 20 Minuten. Je geringer die Sandumw\u00e4lzung ist, desto h\u00f6her ist die Umw\u00e4lzzeit. Dies hat zur Folge, dass die Feststoffe tiefer in das Filterbett einsickern. Die Menge der Feststoffe in den Poren des Filterbetts wird zunehmen. Der Filtrationsmechanismus verbessert sich, da \"Schmutz Schmutz f\u00e4ngt\".<\/li><li>Filterk\u00f6rner, die sich in einem kontinuierlichen Filter nach unten bewegen, neigen dazu, sich zu drehen, wie durch endoskopische Live-Aufnahmen im Filterbett festgestellt wurde. Durch diese rotierende Bewegungskomponente wird ein Teil der Feststoffe freigesetzt, die bereits im Porenraum gefangen waren. Dieses Ph\u00e4nomen ist bei h\u00f6heren Sandumlaufgeschwindigkeiten st\u00e4rker ausgepr\u00e4gt. Folglich wird die Filtratqualit\u00e4t bei h\u00f6heren Sandumlaufgeschwindigkeiten negativ beeinflusst.<\/li><\/ol><p style=\"text-align: justify; tab-stops: 35.45pt 49.65pt;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>Zur Best\u00e4tigung dieses Mechanismus wurden Feldversuche mit Speisewasser mit sehr geringer Feststoffkonzentration und geringer Tr\u00fcbung durchgef\u00fchrt. In Abbildung 1 werden kontinuierliche Filterleistungsdaten unter Verwendung von Speisewasser aus einem Oberfl\u00e4chenwasserreservoir mit geringem Feststoffgehalt und geringer Tr\u00fcbung erfasst. Als Filtermedium wird Filtersand mit einem Gef\u00e4lle von 0,8 - 1,25 mm verwendet. Die H\u00f6he des Filterbetts betr\u00e4gt 2 m und der Filter wird mit einer Filtrationsgeschwindigkeit von 8 m\/h betrieben.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In der Abbildung ist die Sandzirkulationsrate gegen die Filterleistung f\u00fcr zwei Betriebsf\u00e4lle aufgetragen:<\/p><ul><li>Die rote Linie zeigt die Ergebnisse der reinen Filtration ohne Zusatz eines Koagulationsmittels;<\/li><li>Die blaue Linie zeigt die Ergebnisse der Filtration, die durch eine Koagulationsmitteldosierung von 4 mg\/l Eisen im Zulauf zum Filter verbessert wurde.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In beiden F\u00e4llen ist die Auswirkung deutlich sichtbar, wenngleich sie im Falle einer Gerinnungsmitteldosierung weniger ausgepr\u00e4gt ist.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Eine letzte wichtige Bemerkung: Die Sandumw\u00e4lzung sollte niemals niedriger sein als die anwendbare Mindestmenge. Die Sandumw\u00e4lzung sollte hoch genug sein, um ein Gleichgewicht zwischen den mit dem Speisewasser zugef\u00fchrten Feststoffen und den mit dem Waschwasser ausgewaschenen Feststoffen herzustellen.<\/p><p>Wird die Sandumw\u00e4lzung zu niedrig gew\u00e4hlt, wird dieses Gleichgewicht nicht erreicht und der Widerstand des Filterbetts steigt an. Dies f\u00fchrt schlie\u00dflich zu einem Durchbruch von Feststoffen im Filtrat.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Zusammenfassend l\u00e4sst sich sagen, dass eine Optimierung der Sandumw\u00e4lzungsrate zu einer h\u00f6heren Filterleistung f\u00fchrt, wie in den Feldversuchen gezeigt wurde.
