Spoelwater van zandfilters is de grootste afvalwaterstroom die ontstaat, met stromen<br \/>\nvari\u00ebrend tussen 1-10% van de totale drinkwaterproductie.<br \/>\nCoagulatie, flocculatie en scheiding met gekantelde platen is een doeltreffende manier om de hoeveelheid waswater te verminderen:<\/p>\n<p>100 m3 waswater kan worden gesplitst in 97 m3 bezonken water en 3 m3 slib. De verdikkingsinstallatie brengt het slibvolume vervolgens terug tot 0,7 m3.<br \/>\nDe typische totale concentraties van zwevende deeltjes (TSS) in de inlaat bedragen 200-300 mg\/l, met uitlaatconcentraties van ongeveer 5 mg\/l en &lt; 1mg\/l AI\/Fe.<br \/>\nHet slib wordt gewoonlijk vrijgegeven bij 1% opgeloste vaste stoffen (DS).<\/p>\n<p>Scheiders met schuine platen, die gebruik maken van ge\u00efntegreerde coagulatie en flocculatie, bleken betrouwbaar te zijn voor de behandeling van terugspoelwater.<br \/>\nDe behandeling van spoelwater kan in eerste instantie gericht zijn op het lozen van afvalwater met een lage belasting aan vaste stoffen. Hergebruik van waswater in het primaire behandelingsproces kan echter een economische volgende stap zijn.
