Dit proefonderzoek, Bio-GAK genaamd, heeft tot doel een betaalbare en duurzame oplossing te vinden om microverontreinigingen uit gezuiverd afvalwater te verwijderen voordat het water op het oppervlaktewater wordt geloosd. Deze methode verwijdert zowel medicijnresten als fosfaat.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bio-GAK pilot<\/p>\n<p>De toegepaste zuiveringstechniek is het gebruik van filtermedia van actieve kool in korrelvorm. Het filterbed wordt belucht om de biologische omzetting binnen het filterbed te stimuleren. Daardoor kan de regeneratiefrequentie van het koolstoffilter worden verlengd.<\/p>\n<p>Het Bio-GAK proces maakt gebruik van de continue filtratie technologie. Dit betekent dat het filter tijdens het zuiveringsproces voortdurend wordt gespoeld. De techniek zorgt er ook voor dat fosfaat wordt verwijderd door het gebruik van kleine doses chemicali\u00ebn in de toevoerleiding naar het filter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bijdrage tot het bereiken van de KRW-doelstellingen<\/p>\n<p>Het doel van de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.helpdeskwater.nl\/onderwerpen\/wetgeving-beleid\/kaderrichtlijn-water\/uitvoering\/rijn-west\/we\/krw\/\">KRW (Kaderrichtlijn Water)<\/a> is dat uiterlijk in 2027 alle oppervlaktewaterlichamen in Europa schoon en gezond zijn. Een van de maatregelen die de waterschappen moeten nemen om bij te dragen aan het behalen van deze doelstellingen is het verder verwijderen van fosfaat. Met deze Bio-GAK pilot worden twee zuiveringstechnieken gecombineerd en worden zowel medicijnresten als fosfaat verwijderd.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Uitvoering van proefonderzoek<\/p>\n<p>De Bio-GAK pilotstudie is ge\u00efnitieerd door Brightwork en wordt uitgevoerd door NieuWater, RWB en Waterschap Vechtstromen. Het onderzoek wordt uitgevoerd in het kader van het Innovatieprogramma Microverontreinigingen uit RWZI-afvalwater van STOWA en het Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat. STOWA en het ministerie ondersteunen dit programma financieel om deze pilot mogelijk te maken. Ook de waterschappen Rijn &amp; IJssel, Vallei &amp; Veluwe, Drents Overijsselse Delta en Waterschapsbedrijf Limburg doen mee. Tegelijkertijd voert Aquafin (Belgi\u00eb) een vergelijkende studie uit op AWZI Aartselaar.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Resultaten<\/p>\n<p>De resultaten van het proefonderzoek worden eind 2023 gerapporteerd.
