Towards safe drinking water for the Hammanskraal community in South Africa

The community of Hammanskraal in the North West Province of South Africa has water issues for decades. Water supply is erratic in the best of times and non-existent in the worst of times.

In April 2024 the construction of the 50 Mld Klipdrift Package Plant was granted to Tecroveer by consulting engineers ProPlan and Magalies Water Board. With the objective to start operations of the first 12.5 Mld package plant by the end of October 2024.

Construction and assembly of the package plant are well underway. We are proud to closely collaborate with Tecroveer to make this happen. Within the process set-up our EcoBlue modular water treatment filtration package units are vital components in producing safe drinking water.

The overall treatment process consists of de-gritting, flocculation, flotation and continuous filtration, making it energy and chemical efficient. One of the advantages of this project is the pre-engineered, factory-built design that reduces overall project costs and on-site work. Additionally, the system’s efficient design allows for rapid installation, delivering clean water to the community within 6 months from order date.
