Specialist sand filter in Freshwater plant

Hoogheemraadschap Delfland is going to realise a water reuse project at WWTP De Groote Lucht in Vlaardingen, the "Fresh Water Factory". Delfland Water Board, Sweco, Mobilis, Croonwolter&dros, ABB, Xylem and RWB signed the construction contract on 5 November.

Raw material recovery from activated sludge

Commissioned by Waterschap Drents Overijsselse Delta Brightwork started with a plan for the realisation of a full scale pilot installation at sewage treatment works Dalfsen. The waterboard intends to test a series connected sieve installation, with which activated sludge will be stripped of solids, including fibrous material.

Green energy from organic waste - Attero

Attero's compost plant in Venlo has been processing vegetable, fruit and garden waste from households in the south of the Netherlands for over fifteen years. For reasons of sustainability and energy efficiency, research has been carried out into extracting biogas from VGF waste by combining anaerobic digestion of organic material with the existing aerobic composting.

The study involved a scan of the separate collection and treatment of waste water. Then the translation of this scan to the development of the new urban district Rijnenburg. Commissioned by the Hoogheemraadschap de Stichtse Rijnlanden (HDSR) a blueprint has been made of the way in which new sanitation can be implemented in that district.

CADoS - Cellulose Assisted Dewatering of Sludge

The idea for this development project is based on the efficient separation of cellulose fibres from raw wastewater and the use of these fibres for the dewatering of surplus sludge. This form of raw material reuse leads to a number of advantages: simple sludge dewatering, less use of chemicals, lower energy consumption and fewer sludge transports.

Start-up plan for Hilversum sewage station - Waternet

Optimisation model for sludge flows - Waternet

At the Amsterdam West wastewater treatment plant the sewage sludge from the 12 wastewater treatment plants managed by Waternet is processed. The sludge is digested, dewatered and then incinerated at the AEB. Because of the discontinuation of the digester on the Hilversum sewage station (where the sludge from the Blaricum and Huizen sewage stations was also digestered) the supply of the digester on Amsterdam has increased.
